Special Needs

At YogaVeda we are working to provide classes and instruction for those with special needs.

We offer individualized instruction with Yoga Therapists Ketna Shah, Cherryl Leone and Jen Blakeley.  Prices vary from $60 to $125 for sessions from 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student's needs.

Chair Yoga for people with mobility challenges is offered on Thursday mornings at 9:45 a.m.  Chair yoga is an adaptive, gentle class done seated. The ability to stand is not necessary and the class is wheelchair accessible.  If you need a helper, you are encouraged to bring someone (no extra charge).  No materials are needed.  You can enjoy a yoga class without getting down on the floor.  The class will help increase your flexibility, strengthen your muscles and improve breath capacity.

Restorative Yoga is also a great help to many who are dealing with stress related problems or who are recovering from illness, injury or surgery as well as those with reduced mobility.  The Restorative classes are a breath-based asana practice with 13 to 18 postures that are followed by Pranayama (breathing practices). The movements are gentle and coordinated with the breath. This practice will energize the body and calm the mind. Students will also work towards strength, flexibility, structural alignment, proper functioning of the body systems and mental wellness.  Classes are offered Tuesdays and Thursday mornings at 11:45 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m.
